We are back safely and thinking of Margarita all the time and the Posada too! really can't wait to come back. I e-mailed Amanda and asked her to pass on our sincere thanks to all the staff for all they did to make us at home. We also want to thank you for all the trouble you took to show me around and to give me tips on house hunting etc. Hospitality shown us was just without equal anywhere! Please keep in touch and let me know if you hear of anything good that I shouldn't pass up and I will keep looking on the net. We will try to come back during the christmas break. We have just spent the most wonderful 3 weeks at Posada Villa Del Sol in Playa El Agua. From the moment we arrived with Jose waiting patiently at the airport with his sign, to right now, waiting to leave tonight, we have been treated royally by owner Roberto, and helped with everything by his wonderful staff. Amanda with her perfect English was a huge help in day to day stuff, along with Belkis and Cira who provided great housekeeping and made sure we were looked after in every way. I would recommend ANYONE who wishes to come to the beautiful Isla Margarita, for the best time, you must come and stay here at Villa Del Sol. The Villa has great rooms (we stayed in Casa 3) with communal kitchen as well, and we had fresh mangos, bananas and limes from the trees at the posada during our stay. Roberto helped with currency conversion, arranged personal island tours with his driver Luis in the Villa's Ford Expedition at our convenience and even took us shopping for groceries. He stocks a great kitchen for everyone's convenience and there was always a fresh pot of great Venezuelan coffee brewing in the mornings. The pool is muy bueno, a great place to cool off in the afternoons. After 3 weeks we are still not ready to go home back to Port Moody! This villa is truly paradise with great people you will fall in love with while you are here! We cannot wait to come back!!!

We were looking for a comfortable place to spend a few weeks in Venezuela to end a year travelling around South America...and Villa del Sol was exactly what we were looking for. The rooms are comfortable, and all are quite different. We recommend the rooms upstairs in Casa 1 - the balcony is just lovely, and a great place to cool down when there is a bit of a breeze. For those of you who like mod cons - the rooms (and balconies!) are well equipped with cable TV, DVD player, and surround sound. There is even a projector in the downstairs lounge so you can lie back in a hammock and watch TV on the big screen. (Where I shall watch England beat South Africa in the Rugby World Cup this afternoon).
All the staff are excellent and very friendly and will help you in anyway they can. The pool is lovely - warm, clean and well maintained. The kitchens well stocked and there is great BBQ area next to the pool.
You wont regret coming here, and will find it pretty difficult to leave!

We arrived on the island in early September and had a bad run of luck with Aeropostal loosing our luggage for 5 days. Robert (the owner of the posada) couldn't have been any friendlier and did everything to help us out, including literally giving me the clothes off his own back! We didn't manage to explore much of the island because the beach was so close and the posada had everything you could need. Its an excellently keep resort with clean rooms, friendly staff and a super pool area. We had a great stay and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island.

After having travelling around for a week on the Venezuelan continent, we found this lovely place by a fluke. We supposed to stay just for a few days, but as we saw this beautiful posada, we decided to spend the whole last week there. It is just amazing, how beautiful, relaxing and familiar it is, especially in consideration of the fair costs. We totally enjoyed our stay and will never forget it. We recommend this place to everybody, who will visit this island. Many thanks once again to Roberto, Amanda, Dario and the whole staff. All the best!

Although i am leaving not before next Sunday, i want to write down my impressions now. The 'Villa del Sol' is a incredible place. I have never seen so much value for so little money. One feel's immediately that the reason for Roberto (chief of the Villa) having this place is not to make money but to make the people having a good time and that is extremely seldom today. Therefore, i am recommending this please to everybody who has open mind and it's heart on the right place.

Generally, I am quick to whine so this is my opportunity to balance my
book. Omens were good from the moment out plane landed 2 1/2 hours late
in Porlimar at midnight, and Dario from Villa del Sol was still waiting
with with a welcoming smile to drive us to Playa el agua.
From
arrival at Villa del sol, where Dario offered us a bite to eat from his
fridge at 1 AM, until departure where they offered to get us to the airport
for our departure tomorrow morning (dec 26th) at 7AM, my wife and I
experienced service on a level which seemed foreign to JW Marriott in
Caracas which cost $261 per night. How refreshing. The posada exudes
intimacy, familiarity, and relaxation. But most of all, problem resolution.
Among the desires the ever-effervescent Amanda and Dario salved for us
were: moped for $20, a day fishing for $75 (4 yellow-fin tuna weighing a
total of 19 kilos, and 3 barracuda), a cooking class for free en casa with
our magnifique housekeeper (arepa recipe), micro-light flights for both of
us for $30 each, pointed in the right direction for $'s exchange (2,900
blv's), and much more.
The pool is beautiful, warm, and impeccably
maintained. As is the entire posada. The omnipresent hammocks set the tone.
Just hang out. The daily room service goes the extra yard with small
touches of class such as artistic renderings of towels on your bed etc.
The multimedia options in the common area serve to make it almost
tempting not to leave the posada. Wide-screen over-head projection with a
plethora of dvd's to sit back in a hammock with a cervesa by the pool and
dose off after an active day. The value is unbeatable. The service,
unrivalled. And my wife and I have been far and wide. Our modus Operandi is "never re-trace our steps - the world is too large", but we will make an
exception for villa del sol and Amanda and Dario. Maybe not next year,
but my wife and I intend organize a grand reunion of my friends from my
native Ireland in villa del sol the not to distant future. I will be a hero
among my compatriots! My only advice to Villa del Sol is to organize a
community effort to install one or two lights on the 150 yard walk to the
playa. My wife is afraid of the dark. (certainly not me!) I will add photos
later. BTW, I've been using tripadvisor for 8 years or more and this
is the first time I've been compelled to be part of the collective effort!
In fact, I depend on it as my primary source for accommodations. That says

Villa Del Sol, Thanks you for your hospitality and warmth. Your little

becuase all the amenities we required were there. Location was great,

Vive l'auberge! C'est tellement mieux qu'un hotel. L'auberge est mieux
placé que n'importe quel hotel de la plage. On se sent chez nous mais avec
